New President of The Friends of Bacon Free Library

New President of The Friends of Bacon Free Library is Jan Gardner, elected June 11th to a two year term. Jan is seen here (left). Mary Ann McLean (right), Friends President for the past six years, will stay on as secretary.


Bacon Free Library Art Committee members Karen Leese (left) and Jan Martin (right). THE GALLERY OF BACON FREE LIBRARY, supported by the Friends, always has an art exhibit gracing its walls. Oils, watercolors, photographs and sculptures have been featured in the past. Artists interested in showing at the gallery, or those interested in purchasing artworks which have been displayed, please contact Karen or Jan via the library at 508 653 6730

 

Museum Passes

The Bacon Free Library has museum passes.

They can be borrowed just like a library book and receive reduced admission for up to four people on a particular day.

The library pass to the Museum of Science in Boston gives admission to the museum’s Exhibit Halls at a reduced rate of $7 per person for up to four people. (Full price of admission as listed on the Museum of Science website is $22 each for adults, $19 each for children).
The library pass to the Boston Children’s Museum gives admission at HALF PRICE or $7 per person for up to four people. (Full price of admission as listed on the Boston Children’s Museum website is $14 for adults and $14 for children).

Thank You!

We salute the Friends of Bacon Free Library for a phenomenal effort and success with their South Natick Historic Homes Kitchen Tour and Tea held on Sunday, May 19th. We extend our thanks to sponsors and attendees and all who joined the Friends in this fine celebration. This Friends annual fundraiser supports Bacon Free Library's children's events including the kids summer reading program. This year it is called “DIG INTO READING”. It features the popular Family Literacy Bingo Game and a kickoff visit from storyteller Diane Edgecomb. Sign-up begins on Tuesday, June 25th.  Storyteller Diane Edgecomb will tell stories Library on Friday June 28th at 10 am. See Kids page for more.

Friends

We invite you to join The Friends of Bacon Free Library. The Friends are a dynamic group of volunteers who are dedicated to supporting programs, services and building improvements at The Bacon Free Library.  They do this through membership fees and fundraising events.

If you would like to become involved with the Friends, their meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from September to June at 7:30 pm in the library. Please join us.  

Thank you for becoming a Friend of The Bacon Free Library -- your library by the falls since 1881.
